About the Class
Chemistry: Honors 1 Credit
Available to Grades 10-11 Full Year
Chemistry honors is a student centered quantitative course including the use of abstract thinking and activity-based instruction to solve problems through experimentation. Topics included are gas laws, atomic theory and structure, radioactivity, equation writing and balancing, mole theory and stoichiometry, kinetics and equilibrium, acid-base theory, oxidation-reduction and organic chemistry. This course is designed to prepare students for college chemistry and the SAT Subject Test in Chemistry.
Prerequisite: Teacher Recommendation
A MINIMUM OF 1200 LAB MINUTES ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO TAKE THE REGENTS EXAM ON TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2015! These lab minutes must be completed AND logged in the respective student's lab folder by Friday, June 5, 2015.
