About the Class
Chemistry: Regents 1 Credit
Available to Grades 10-12 Full Year
This course is designed for those students who are highly interested in science and who have previously performed at the above average level in their courses in mathematics, Living Environment, and Earth Science. It follows the NYS curriculum for The Physical Setting: Chemistry. This is a visual presentation of chemistry concepts enhanced with the appropriate laboratory experiences. Topics include: measurement, matter and energy, atomic structure, periodic table, bonding, mathematics in chemistry, acids, bases, and salts, oxidation-reduction, kinetics and equilibrium, and organic chemistry. The course culminates in a Regents examination in June.
A MINIMUM OF 1200 LAB MINUTES ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO TAKE THE REGENTS EXAM ON TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2015! These lab minutes must be completed AND logged in the respective student's lab folder by Friday, June 5, 2015.
